Metro Exodus: Sam's Story Review (5Andysalive)
Feels initially like a new area, like the one in the main game, with a new story. That would have been great and exactly what i hope for in a DLC. Especially since the protagonist does actally speak to people and doesn't "answer" everybody with complete silence (and NPC not reacting to that), the story telling is leagues above the main game.
Sadly the new region is as many, if not more leagues below any of the main games! It's completely linear even though it doesn't look like it at first. Sadly the way they do that is with a absolute mess of unimmersive invisible walls and ways you just can't go back for absolutely no reason. That is way worse than having simply linear levels.
And in the end you get the gasmask filter spam we all love so much from late normal game. This DLC could have been sooo much better. It feels cheaty (from the devs) to cut level design corners by cheap and in-your-face unimmersive tricks.
This is a sideways thumb that just about wins over gravity, not a real recommendation..
