PROS:
+ A huge upgrade from the original Metro 2033 version. (Look up the comparisons on YouTube)
+ Deep survival elements, bullets are scarce (In ranger mode) and attacks laid on you are impactful it's truly the best way to play Metro.
+ Military bullets are treated as currency.
+ Weaponry feels detailed with it's post-apocalyptic to thank for. Aka, some weapons require to be pumped.
+ Enemies attack with speed, which enhances your reactions.
+ It's atmospheric to the final detail, the fog setting once outside the tunnels all the way to wiping the blood and grime from your gas-mask to see.
+ The story is good enough to be turned into a movie, there's already books about it so a movie wouldn't be a huge stretch.
CONS:
- It's a short game. (About 9 hours to complete)
- Modding your weapons is a little lacking.
- Shooting from the hip feels most effective.... which I don't like.
VERDICT:
I'm here to say that this game deserves every positive review it receives, I never had the honour to play it's original release but the Redux version is truly a masterpiece to the Metro collection. If you have this game sitting in your library, don't hesitate any longer, you're missing out on a game of a lifetime. Same to the players who don't own this, it's cheap enough to obtain and well worth your time. If I realised this sooner, I would've played Metro 2033 many years ago.

GAMEPLAY:
The story is based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novel of the same name, where survivors of a nuclear war have taken refuge in the Metro tunnels of Moscow. Players control Artyom, a man who must save his home station from the dangers lurking within the Metro. In the game, players encounter human and mutant enemies, who can be killed with a variety of firearms. Players must also wear a gas mask to explore areas covered in fallout radiation, both underground and on the surface.
