Metal Slug Tactics Review (xCallisto)
A game loyal to the Metal Slug franchise that introduces a fresh tactical roguelike.
The tactical part is very challenging trying to keep everyone alive, offers a unique way to play where you must move your characters to keep them with their bonus cover + adrenaline ... and yes, keep them moving!! Might seem a bit confusing to explain like this but this mechanic is kinda different and enjoyable.
I have only a couple of complains:
- Protect missions: it is not helpful for the friendly NPCs to protect to be stationary, without any interaction to make them move. For example there are Special Actions that move other units (alies and enemies) , but these are unable to be used on them protect NPCs. Of course using them might make the game feel easier, but who likes to protect NPCs? This could at very least be an option that we could toggle before each game session, so it could be enabled so it doesn't feel stressfull having to defend the NPCs; hardcore players can keep them stationary.
- Undo button: I feel that this button doesn't do much... yes it is good to redo the move command, but it is all it does. If for any instance we attack or use a Special Actions that we don't like the outcome, it doesn't undo that action... there is a Turn Refresh, but it has only 2 usages, and have to redo all actions is a pain... Again I know this in place to keep the game challenging, but I have misclicked some commands and shot my team when I only wanted to check their skills and stats... having a complete undo action would be great - maybe have it has as option toggle!
So far I am enjoying it very much.
And the mummify part... such nostalgic seeing this! :')
