Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Review (anthonychaves79)
Besides the stupid Denuvo DRM, the game runs pretty smooth with no issues.
Here you have a collection of battle network games from 1-3, and it seems like the trophys are linked for all 3 games instead of it separately... I'm personally going for a 100% completion which means I have to play it more than once.
The menus are clean and simple as you are greeted with a Modren 3D model of Megan.exe with the original voice actor from the anime... There is different language options and changing your language does change the logos of the games which is cool but it's still the same game don't be confused that it's some "different version" or anything just because of the logo change for another language.
In terms of gameplay there isn't anything new, it's basically the same gameplay from the GBA games.
Was is new however is buster MAX mode that allows you to do 100x the damage of your normal buster shot, which is EXTREMELY helpful especially for the first game that doesn't have an escape button.... I don't think I have to remind everyone here how much of a labyrinth structure MESS the first game's internet areas are... And because they are a mess you keep running into enemies that without the escape chip your forced to fight, every, single, TIME... But thanks to Buster MAX mode you can make quick work of this mess. It also doesn't effect trophys, so go ahead and use it if you get stuck, it makes grinding for chips and zennys easier too. I wish capcom just fixed BN1 but that's just me.
Extra features include the exclusive battle network Japanese only chips that you can immediately download and use at the start of the game.... they are very overpowered in the early game but if you think you feel guilty about using them early don't..... these games spike up in difficulty. There is also the Japanese only 499 patch cards they added but those are separate from these battle chips and you won't be able to use those until Mega Man Battle Network 4 which is in collection 2.
Capcom also added online fighting and online trading to all the games, I haven't tested these features yet as it's still pretty early for people to be using it.
There is a HD filter that makes it less pixelated, in my opinion it looks fine and does make it easier on the eyes but that's just me.
You can also have different custom borders, which is a neat little addition.
And then you have the usual MegaMan Collection stuff with the art galleries and music players.... You can actually run as specific music piece to play as your main menu theme though so that's nice.
Overall your getting a lot of bang for your buck here, definitely recommend getting it.
