Marvel's Midnight Suns: Season Pass Review (Silenzeio)

The Season Pass for Midnight Suns is amazing in terms of value... But i say that with a sale in mind.
Bundled into the Pass is all four DLC add-ons for Deadpool, Venom, Morbius and Storm as well as all the Premium Skins for each base hero (Excluding Defenders Doctor Strange as a separate purchase) and the various color swaps they can utilise. Certainly saves you a lot of money not having to buy Eclipse Credits and getting the skins that way.
With all that being said though, i'd like to extend my thoughts regarding the DLC stories, additions and the game as a whole.
The Vampyre and Turned Hydra factions are just... Annoying to deal with. If your heroes don't have Resist or a high Resilience, prepare to either waste redraws to remove the Bleed you'll self inflict with "infected" cards or just take the damage and juice up the enemies. Not to mention the Vampyre Hemaliscs that will spawn out more Vampyres after a certain amount of card plays or that Turned Mystics or Sin can just turn any of their allies INTO Hemaliscs.
That annoyance boils into pure rage as you have to tend with Dracula in four missions. The ending to Venom, Morbius and Storm's stories as well as the final overarching mission for having completed all the four DLC stories.
Dracula is by far the worst boss in terms of difficulty. He can infect more cards than any Vampyre, inflict bleed, deal incredible damage, lifesteal from your heroes and counter attack any hero inflicted with Bleed. This boils over again in the overarching mission as The Hunter is excluded in exchange for Blade and the four DLC heroes. If you've ever felt like your team is useless without The Hunter on any mission, this is the final form of that being the case. I'm not too proud to admit having to re-mod many hero cards just to throw another attempt at that damn final mission.
Aside from that, all the included heroes are great in their own way in terms of their combat, Abbey upgrades, combat item additions, writing, story, all of it.
But i must lament on the fact that there'll never be a follow up to this game. Or more DLC. At present, there are six rooms in the Abbey that are left un-occupied by a hero. That could've been six extra heroes and DLC story to play through. I've seen some suggestions as to who should've been included that i'd like to throw out:
Dahlia (I think she could've been an excellent healer, on par or better than The Hunter)
Moon Knight (Ties into the supernatural and spiritual realms of Marvel, plus it would be an interesting friendship with the varying personalities)
Doctor Voodoo (Calling back to the classic Midnight Sons)
Nightcrawler (Would bump up the X-Men roster and maybe have some fun movement synergy with Magik)
Thor (He's mentioned several times by the Avengers)
I'm sure there's a dozen more ideas people could have or have shared online. But nothing will come of those empty rooms.
There's a DLC cliffhanger after the finale mission. Nothing will come out of it. Weather in a sequel or follow up DLC.
But most glaring of all... The base game has it's own cliffhanger sequel tease. And with how much i adore Midnight Suns as a whole, it hurts internally to see that despite the critical success of Midnight Suns, the game was a failure commercially.
I'm sure fans of the game could have write ups of a story or wishlists for new game mechanics if a sequel were to exist. I know i have my own wishlists for mechanics. But... Nothing. The last update this game had was in June 2023. This game was a passion project at Firaxis, pouring so much care into this game and... Nothing.
I can only leave Midnight Suns with a mixed smile of love and sadness. I adore this game endlessly, ranking it highly among my favourite games of all time... But there's no future. No more DLC, no sequel... Only cliffhangers.
Firaxis, you did fantastic.
