Marble It Up! Ultra Review (Ethan)

Developers released "Marble it Up! Ultra" as a free update to the original, promising that the new game would be added to the Steam Accounts of everyone who owned the original "Marble it Up!", and that the original would be re-branded to "Marble it Up! Classic". All sounds good right? Well they made one vital mistake, that screwed everything up. They instead changed the original "Marble it Up!" to "Marble it Up! Ultra" and added "Marble it Up! Classic" as a new, totally separate game. How is that a problem? They completely and utterly broke achievement progress, save files, and cloud save support for EVERYBODY that owned, and played the original game.
The biggest problem is Cloud Save Support is completely borked as of posting. The original game saved differently than this new "Ultra" variant, and Steam doesn't know how to overwrite that original save with this new one, so we always get "Cloud Sync Errors" with no way to fix it. As far as I know, there is no way to delete Steam Cloud Saves manually. For someone like me, that plays on both PC and Steam Deck, this has ruined the game for me, as I can only play it on one device, and I have no guarantee my save files are safe. Also every single time I boot up Steam, I get a popup saying "Cloud Sync Error", it was genuinely so annoying, I just uninstalled the game. Secondly, everybody that played the original game, has now lost all of their progress, and achievements, as "Marble it Up! Classic" is it's own game, with none of our original progress carried over. This has been particularly heartbreaking for everyone who went through the effort to 100% the original game, as they have now lost the original 100% save, and the achievements to prove it. If they want them back, they will have to 100% either the "Ultra" or "Classic" version of the game.
If you buy this game today, you will have none of these problems, so it's really upsetting that it's actually the supporters of the original game that are suffering from this stupid mistake. It doesn't ruin the game, and I still recommend it to anybody looking to buy it, but it's infuriating that I have no way to fix the Cloud Sync not working, and it has made me lose interest in playing the game at, which is very sad, as I was excited for this new update. Hopefully the developers will be able to fix the Cloud Save Error problems for everyone, then I can delete this negative review.
