Lords of the Fallen Review (dopefishreturns)

If you manage to pick this game up cheaply during a Steam sale, it's a nice enough diversion to play through.
Although dated, the graphics are still okay, although there are a few glitches here and there, as objects going through one and other instead of colliding.
The first downside of the game is the fact there is no map system, which can make exploration rather frustrating, as they expect you to focus on land marks. Often I found myself confused when I was in areas that looked very much alike.
The other thing that a lot of games have is a save system based on certain in-game points and the fact you are bound to one save slot during your playthrough.
This makes replayability or exploring the outcome of difference choices you can make impossible.
For me personally, it is not the sort of game I would want to replay in its whole, just to see a different outcome, this is not just because the gameplay isn't as much fun as I hoped, but also because it can get quite repetitive, and the story isn't as fleshed out and lore-rich as it is in the The Witcher series.
Respawned monsters in areas you have already cleared is quite frustrating and results in unrewarding hack-and-slash.
