Little Nightmares: The Hideaway Review (Niko)
Perhaps my favourite little chapter of the DLC story!
The gimmick of this chapter is that you have to utilize and ultimately assemble a team of nomes to progress, which is really cute. To that end the level also loops back around to a central area a few times, which I found is quite well done.
Managing the nomes, a party of three maximum per area, can get a little annoying when they have trouble with their pathfinding or simply do not do what you want them to right away. But they are endearing enough that you can forgive them for taking a little longer sometimes.
Much like in the previous chapter you get a glimpse of Six once more and with that a feeling of when your adventure takes place in relation to theirs.
This chapter took me the longest out of all the DLC ones taking a bit more than one and a half hours to complete with some stumbling around looking how to progress.
Even if you chose to skip the first DLC chapter, I strongly recommend this one not just for the adorable little nomes skittering about and giving them hugs, but also because it nicely sets up what’s to come in the last DLC chapter.
