Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Review (Sgtkeebler)
It pains me to do this, but I do not support what Sega has done. I want everyone to be aware of a few things. There are 3 difficulty levels and all 3 difficultly levels are locked behind NG+, so there is no way to change the difficulty without paying for NG+, and beating the game. The way that Sega has chosen to deal with this is scummy. In the US NG+ is $20, so if you purchased the base game, and you want to be able change the difficulty well you have to pony up $90 or buy the deluxe edition for $84.99 (this is your cheapest option). My interpretation of this is that the deluxe version is the base game since it is "feature complete" while the actual base version is the up-sell where they up-sell you NG+ to make the most profit off of you. Of course there is the $109 version which I personally didn't want to deal with that version because I don't care about the optional DLC. Depending on what you want you are either stuck with $90 (this is including NG+), $84.99 or the $109 version, this is why imo I believe the $84.99 version is the "base" version.
If you don't care about NG+, difficulty or achievements locked behind the NG+ mode, and you want to buy this game then by all means purchase the $69.99 version. If you have any doubt that you may buy NG+ in the future save yourself the money and just pay the $84.99. Why can't these corporations and CEO's just release a feature complete game like BG3 without all of the greedy monetization.
Had Sega not pulled this scam move, I would have purchased the $69.99 version, but I also would have been more inclined to buy the optional DLC packs. Now, I want nothing to do with the DLC packs, other than the NG+ mode. They have taken enough of my money.
Edit: the only reason why I found out about the difficulty is because I am level 4 one hitting enemies, and I hope that the game gets harder as I get further along.
