LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Review (MooRicher)
My dear first love
Each and everyone of us had his first love. The one that changed our worlds. To raise us from the dust and sand of the playgrounds binding us to an everlasting adventure through countless worlds and stories. The first video game that made us a gamer.
This is mine.
While TCS is not my first video game its the one that really kept me playing for longer than a couple of days. Its the first game I played for so long that my parents got mad at me and need define rules on how and when to play video games. Something that was foretold to happen at the day my father made me Star Wars fan. Upon christmas I got the X-Wing on Dagobah Lego set and throught this I discovered the movies and then from a friend this game. A featuring my lego sets, my newly declared heroes. Star Wars became my obession as a child and TCS the perfect medium to let loose childish creativity.
Ok to ruin this moment Lego Star Wars II was my first game closely followed by Lego Star Wars 1 than being replaced by TCS after its release shortly after.
Lego Star Wars still holds up today. A vast roster of characters, some incredible levels and the charme of early lego games. Sure as a kid some levels where more enjoyable than today. And it did needed time to figure some levels out. Screw you Pod Race and Battle over Corouscant. Me and my brother loved Jedi Battle and running arround in the most ridicules characters. TCS became my teacher and it showed me how riddles worked in video games. I have really found memories of the game.
Today Id say some stuff didnt age well. Some vehicle levels have yanky controls and the addition of Bounty Hunter Pursuit wasnt needed and even why didnt we got a Jedi Arrest level or Yoda vs the newly declared emporer. I could use a decent new Lego Star Wars game. Skywalker Saga isnt bad per se its to different for me. Lacking what this game did great in opinion.
I feel why to biased to voice real critisim for this game will always be the definition of my own childhood and for that I will always remember it. Till the day I find myself having kids on my own.
