LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Review (Flavius Claudius Julianus)

I can’t believe they made a whole movie saga based off of this game…
… and then some crappy sequels.
I like Star Wars, I like Lego games, I like it for nostalgia, the puzzles and the collecting. It’s just really fun. At the time it came out, it not only was a rare kind of game that felt massive and expansive - it also introduced me (and probably quite a few other people) to Star Wars for the first time.
My brother is mentally handicapped and deaf and wasn’t really into Star Wars due to accessibility at the time since VHS tapes were still the norm for us in our backwater Balkan country and brand new DVD’s didn’t have proper subtitle options yet. When the Lego Star Wars came out, that was how him and I got into it and since it was entirely visual humor and references without dialogue, that was a much more accessible way into falling in love with this franchise.
When I eventually watched the actual movies, I was surprised to learn that Darth Vader didn’t reveal that he was Luke’s father via family photo.
Being a womp rat was genuinely one of the most exciting things to me about this game. Reject humanity, become a womp rat brothers and sisters.
The sound of Yoda dying is still to this day one of the sweetest sounds to grace my eardrums. I hope that when I’m an old man laying on my deathbed and saying goodbye to my loved ones to scream out the Yoda death scream as the life in my eyes begins to fade.
