LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Review (JLSY)
So many freaking TCS references!!! I really enjoyed LEGO Indiana Jones 1 even though I'm not the biggest fan of the series. I completed it to 100% in about 13 hours, the story took me about 7 hrs and the clean-up about 5hrs. Overall I'd give it a 8/10. A little buggy which knocks it down a point, and another just because I wasn't too interested in the story. I bet for Indy fans it's awesome.
One bug you should be aware of is that for some reason whenever I'd jump onto a platform or cross a lego-made bridge or whatnot, I couldn't jump off it. I would jump 2 mm off the ground (vertically) and then just halt. I learnt that if you turn V-sync on it fixes it.
For 100%'ers: This game is so much fun but there are a few times I missed an artefact (minikit) due to the fact that once you get the artefact locator extra, the arrows are so small and white. A lot of the game has bright environments where you'll easily miss some minikits. I think there are like 2 missions at night time and the rest are in bright blue skies. So watch out for that. Otherwise the TCS references were fun and are required to 100%. Took me 5 mins to watch a video for the remaining characters I missed. Overall for 100% I'd say a 7/10.
Summary:
For Casuals: 8/10 - A little buggy. But otherwise this is a gem of a game. If you liked Star Wars The Complete Saga, you will feel right at home.
For 100%'ers: 7/10 - All things stated above, plus some minikits are in some wacky areas of levels that you can easily miss in which you have to restart the whole level. Otherwise one of the best LEGO games out there.
