LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Review (Chris)

The second LEGO game to be released (originally all the way back in 2008 on the PS2) has an entirely different feel to LEGO Star Wars.
The move to Indiana Jones brings a more exploration and puzzle orientated feel to the game, which at first feels a bit daunting. Most LEGO games you can simply smash everything and achieve victory, Indiana Jones requires a little more thought than that. You'll juggle characters, equipment and solve memory riddles to get through some zones.
Combat has never really been a key part of the LEGO games, but there's something 'off' about Indiana Jones' melee attacks. It feels sluggish and weak, especially considering the enemies (never referred to as Nazis) have guns and grenades. You will die. A lot. Yet, it's not difficult to achieve True Adventurer on most levels.
Despite that the game is still fun, although if you have LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, I'd skip this one and play that one instead. It includes the redesigned levels from this game, as well as levels for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull among other 'improvements'.
Overall an interesting second entry into the LEGO franchise of games, but doesn't feel as fun as LEGO Star Wars.
