Last Labyrinth Review (OtaCat)

This is an escape the room puzzle game, but just saying that doesn't do it justice. There is an air of mystery as you are chained to a chair and have to communicate with a girl to make your escape. Mess up on the puzzles, and you both die horribly.
The best part of this game is really the part where you die horribly. My favorite part is watching the girl die. I hate her. You're not supposed to. But because of this gameplay, I hate her. SO. MUCH.
The puzzles start off well enough and they even make you feel clever. More in a Myst kind of way and less in a '9/10 IGN reviewer me smart beat puzzles'. Problem is, this game sets up a puzzle format early on and when those expectations are broken it very quickly becomes frustrating.
The girl you control is SO SLOW jesus christ is she slow. This wouldn't be such a bad thing if you beat the puzzles and move on, but the game has multiple endings and to get all of them you have to complete rooms repeatedly which is LONG AND BORING BECAUSE YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THE PUZZLE JUST LET ME SKIP IT JESUS CHRIST.
Additionally, some puzzles give you little feedback on if you are doing something successfully or not, and having to repeat the same puzzles are even worse in those situations because your mind will always work faster THAN THIS SLOW CHILD. The amount of feedback and positive reinforcement you have to give this stupid little girl with nodding your head is possibly the worst part. I never thought anyone would need more attention than myself in life to get anything done, but I was wrong. So wrong.
Additionally, if you need to repeat a room because you know you messed up early on, then you CAN'T you have to DIE. And to die, child has to cinematically press a button, which takes.. you guessed it. A LONG A** TIME. The death scenes can be skipped after you've seen them once, but it will take ages for your dumb child to even kill herself.
Game has good ideas, but is way too slow and repetitive to be worth while. If you like puzzles, you may find enjoyment until, you don't anymore because of how long it takes to get anything done. The story is neat and I might see it through to the end because I feel obligated to because it was $40 dollars I could have otherwise saved TT_TT
