Last Days of Lazarus Review (Vynn)

Story-wise, this game is incredibly confused and appears to have been written in segments by separate groups without communication between any of them. I can piece the story together but a lot simply is not explored enough or is never wrapped up. Other characters are never developed enough either, and are sometimes in the way causing an annoyance. All of them appear at random and some just magically appear (you'll know what I mean if you play the game) causing a "how the heck did you did here?" response, and it is hilariously goofy.
Most puzzles were very fun to go through with one or two either partially seeming like a needless time-sink, or I just personally wasn't good enough to solve them for a while.
The graphics are quite beautiful, it is clear a lot of time and effort went into creating this game, and this part comes off as the main focus of the project.
The protagonist is nonredeemable however, he's awful in how he handles situations, treats his family, and his utter greed in almost every scenario. The tasks necessary to complete sections also seems completely random/disjointed sometimes, it reminds me a little of early-day games with their item gathering. The exploration involved can be rather satisfying, even if I have no idea about the 'what' or 'why' of the situation.
It is also, simply put, pure chaos at points. It is weird, confusing, and wonderfully goofy.
Containing a lot of gore, the opening scene really sums it up quite simply what you're in for with this game. You will either love it or hate it.
Ultimately, this game is terrible in many ways and great in many ways. I love it.
