Lake Review (jenna maxon)
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to give this game a negative review score. I wish it wasn't so but it's totally not worth the price they're asking.
I love the idea of the game: wandering a little community, finding and interacting with the residents, following out their stories, doing little jobs for them - even the idea of delivering mail, to give reason to your travels, are all good concepts. Just the sort of thing I should like. And I also like the look of the game: nice calm design, good colours and lighting, nice environment. The lake and surrounding country is attractive and easy on the eye. The modelling and animations are not outstanding but look reasonably ok and I don't really mind that if the story and engagement with the game environment is good. Only it's not. Sadly. It's also really - and I mean really - short despite the really - and I mean really - slow movement of the MC.
The problem is the lack of depth in the main story(ies) and the lack of depth of the characterisation of the NPCs. They could have done so much more with the writing here. As it is, it's bland and shallow and I sent Meredith back to the city as soon as I was able. Really, get out of there girl and never look back.
If you really fancy the game, wait for a sale. The retail price is far too high for what you get
