L.A. Noire Review (hellhound)
I love the hell out of this game, but I literally can't play it or any of Rockstar's other games either. Here's why:
This game forces you to install and open Rockstar Social Club in order to launch it. Not the biggest problem, until you don't remember your password because they make you change it when there's nothing wrong with your account. So I can't remember my password... hrm... well, you'd think there would be a 'reset password' option, right? Well you're right, there is! Problem is, when you click reset password the application gives you a big green thumbs up and says "Go check your email buddy! :)" so I do, and there's no email. Five minutes pass. Fifteen minutes pass... nothing. So I try again and get the same result.
I go on their help page to see if there might be an alternative way to reset my password, but there's nothing. So I resigned myself and just made a new Rockstar Social Club account. Try logging in with that account however, and the program tells you "WHOA BUDDY... YOU CAN'T LOG IN WITH THAT EMAIL!! THERE'S ALREADY A DIFFERENT SOCIAL CLUB ACCOUNT ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT!! USE THAT ONE INSTEAD :))" but I fucking CAN'T.
So I try to see if I can make a ticket and have one of their customer support agents help me out, but they purposely design their help page so that it's almost impossible to make a ticket for something, just to avoid having to put any real people on the front lines. So that doesn't work either. When I do finally figure out some way to brute force making a ticket, guess what? You need to be SIGNED IN in order to make a support ticket!! So I can't do that either!
I finally figure that I could just try unlinking my Steam account with the Rockstar account and re-linking it with the new one I just made. But I can't do that either, because guess what? That ALSO requires you to be logged in because it requires making a ticket! At this point I can't believe how absolutely braindead the idiots are that made this website because forcing someone to be logged in to make a support ticket is possibly the most retarded thing I've ever seen on a customer support page ever.
So I give up. What are my other options at this point? Calling corporate? Tweeting at them on Twitter??? Why is this so obtuse? Why can't I just play my video game I paid good money for? Why would you ever treat your customer base like this?? Fuck Rockstar. This game is amazing, but they're literally preventing me from playing it all because I can't remember my password that they FORCED me to change. Fuck off.
