Kingdoms Reborn Review (Steelwolf)

After playing for a few hour with the new updates, I felt it wise to review my review. Sadly, I feel this game has lost its shine.
While at its base it is still a unique and somewhat enjoyable city builder the fact is, its marred in the same issue that caused me to write the first negative review.
Corp breeders were introduced awhile back and for the most part continue to be overwhelmingly negative feature. Land is infertile for the most part and basic crops now require a building called a crop breeder to be placed near to farms. Only one is allowed per province which means only one crop per area. A very poor mechanic in my opinion.
The land has been kept low in fertility outside of fertile zones which used to be places where special crops like hemp, tulips cocoa and coffee would grow while rest as fertile. I complained loudly when this was implemented and at this point with the new updates. I can't even call it an unhappy compromise because there was no compromise.
Now the game is much slower than before, luxuries are consumed in very odd ways with pottery and furniture getting consumed quickly and hemp, tulips and sushi being slower. Very little sense in that from my view.
Building upkeep is a massive negative. Taverns, libraries and markets cost upkeep which isn't bad but you are unable to add cards to these buildings. Farms are also immune from cards as are the infamous crop breeder. Upgrading buildings increase this upkeep.
I'm happy to see AI is getting upgraded in this game and some are mean and hostile but the city building is still poor for them. AI also gets first pickings which is okay as it allows you to avoid it but still they generally land on good land.
There been some fixes to farming and early game food production but over all that still not good considering fertile land for farms negates that.
Overall, I am very sadden by the path of this developer. While I wish this game the best, I feel its time for me to uninstall and move on from here. A shame as it was in my top 10 of favorite games and now.. not even in the top 50 due to crop breeders.
Below is the old review. Above the new.
A victim of early access.
While this game had been within my top 10 games the latest major update has removed it from the list.
Kingdoms Reborn offers an interesting game play of a post apoc world that starts from the stone age and so far reaches into the early industrial age. Map resources are important for success in this game. Sadly this is where the victim of early access happens.
The creator of the map decided to change a core aspect of the game by removing plant resources from the map and lowering global fertility. Now the world map feels empty, trade is less important and trying to tech up is more difficult. Over all a negative. The response to backlash over this was just to sweep it under the rug and ignore it until players who disliked the update stopped playing and new players game in not understanding how great the old world was.
Hopefully come next major update the world resource map will be fixed till then I cannot and will not recommend this game.
