Kingdom Two Crowns: Call of Olympus Review (Proxym)

Kingdom as a series definitely follows a good streak of adding cool content and I love to see that after so many years it's still afloat and the devs are refreshing it.
Be it as it may, milking a title that is working or otherwise but they seem to know what they're doing.. but well.
Let's start this review by saying that it's truly been a journey watching a simple two-sided game where you defeat the greed and finally there's a portal that renegerates, evolve into an adventure-like concept with a plot and cool features.
Now as for Olympus, however, if we take the vanila 'Two Crowns' and give it 10/10 (which it deserves), my honest opinion is that is' a 6.
In terms of engenuity this is mediocre at best, as while the concepts are good, they are heavily underplayed and used lazily imho. The "hellenistic" atmosphere is also kinda weak. Let's look at a few examples:
- slingers are not looking 'ancinet' enough
- citizens are too similar to workers - it's just a mess imo
- the volcano island should have something more - the looming peaks in the distance are so underused. Perhaps TALOS as a boss to get to the IRON upgrade? C'mon just reskin an armored breeder : p
- the music could be more 'in the climate', imo it's too similar to the original - make it sound like it's from the epoch
- the boats are a neat concept, but the logic to them is beyond me in some situations, like attacking. Oh and they're untouchable.
- I HATE the look of the town hall. Sorry it's just wrong imo - why didn't you make something better and who told you it's a good idea? I used to be excited about upgrading it, now it's just 'whatever'.
This DLC also has some serious balance problems. Let's take the mounts:
- Arachne is basically useless, so is the Waterhorse
- Pegasus and Chimera are so good Idk why would you even consider using other mounts, perhaps in winter when they can't graze, but c'mon. While Pegasus requires some thinking to get it, Chimera is just there, way too easy for a mount that can clear entire waves by itself (3x flamejump come on, I destroyed waves with 5xCrabs/6xBulky/4xBreeders just by jumping back and forth near the wall XD
- Cerberus is hyped but his ability is weak and it's a terrible mount.
While a good old Gryph is still OP
And okay, I get that they have a different price, but they all cost 3 at the stable
Bugs are also a big thing. Few I've noticed:
- Soliders teleporting to boats from across the map
- Soliders sent by a 4coin command towards the Snake freezing in place forever
- Builders near Persephone crystal prison running back and forth in a lopp unable to get to the trees (I think they should just give up after not being able to reach them)
- Flame catapult jars appering in random places
- Rally flag not being present after attacking the snake
- Snake tail being buggy af in general
So it's a really good idea, but poorly executed. Idk guys. Imo you can do much better.
I recommend Kingdom to everyone, but as for existing players - imo don't buy the Olympus yet and definitely wait for a promo. It's nice, but not worth the price with so many unfinished things and broken concepts
