Kingdom Rush Frontiers Review (Polifimia)
Kingdom Rush Frontiers is the second game in the tower defence series where you build towers, upgrade them and micromanage heroes along with soldiers to disallow enemies to pass from specific limits in the map.
Pros
+ Excellent strategy with a lot of options on how to achieve the goals
+ Great replayability because once you complete a map with 3 stars the expert and iron modes open, the first more difficult than the regular map and the second even more difficult by limiting the tower types you can use
+ Plenty of heroes with lots of upgrade options, definitely an improvement over the first game. Also plenty of enemies each requiring different approach.
+ Nice variety of environments and big bosses
+ Excellent sound effects
Cons
- Compared to the first game I got the feeling that it is quite shorter, not sure if it is indeed the case or because having the experience it was easier to beat
- There are some balance issues among the towers, some appear very overpowered (necromancer) others significantly underpowered (paladins and axethrowers)
- There are some difficulty spikes as specific levels (although in general the game is quite more accessible than the first one, at least for the expert and iron challenges)
- There is some repetition in the concept and realization. If you hated the first game this one will not change your opinion.
All-in-all an excellent tower defence game which is strongly recommended for anyone who loves this kind of games.
