Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Review (Ahad88)
One of the best games I have ever played!
Story: 9/10
It was perfect but sometimes I felt they tried too hard to be funny. But then Latin is hard! I cannot blame them since I almost fell out of my chair a couple of times laughing!
Combat: 8/10
It still needs some polishing. Combos are useless and almost impossible to pull off since perfect block is too common. Axes with a spear tip cannot be used to thrust because they simplified it too much and thrusting attacks cannot be aimed at torso or head like in KCD1. Other than that everything is perfect. Combat becomes too easy after you build up and AI is stupid. It gives you the chance to master strike every time. You have a few months until the hardcore mode. To the task!
Immersion: 9/10
I have been living in Henry's world! It is so believable and it respects me as a player and does not treat me like a child! I only found two issues. Heroes often do not wear good armor and especially helmets during battles. I understand the need to show their facial expressions but it hurts the immersion.
Another issue is the LGBT stuff. I have no problem with Henry having this option since he is under player control and player must have 100% control over Henry but Hans Capon? The famous skirt chaser? Him being an option multiple times, kind of felt weird. I didn't pursue that path so I don't know what will happen but he shouldn't change like that. Other than that everything was perfect! The best open world I have ever seen!
Overall I give this game 9/10 and recommend it to everyone who enjoys playing video games. This is what gaming looked like back in the day! We have the maturity and artistic talent of the early 2000s plus the new technology of today. This game is a masterpiece. I pray that Warhorse keep this up and does not turn into another AAA dung grabber! Resist the urge Warhorse! Resist the business department! Never change!
