King of Kings Review (Robur01)

Once again this DLC isn't balanced in the slightest, some nations feel like playing a nationalist' wet dream while others barely see anything remotely useful and now a new contender for unbalanced multiplayer matches has appeared again, Persia! Doing nothing gives you the best military quality and more power than France in its historical prime, letting you obliterate every single tribe for free and turning you into a subcontinental superpower in the span of less than 50 years while still retaining prime buffs that make nations whose sole gimmick is army quality cry in anguish
It's a shame that the paradox DLC philosophy of this game has became "let's make 10 nations with mission trees and charge yet another few dozen of euros" without adressing the rest of the world and playing favorites with persia/byz because those undeniably sell more
Like wow! such a great sales speech! 70+ missions for Persia! the biggest yet in the game! Meanwhile Europa Expanded exists, there's massive content and balance disparity between nations and you can EASILY see which nations have been made by whom and who cares about not making everything stupidly OP
I genuinely believe that unfortunately at this point paradox doesn't really "care" about making the game better in the grand schemes of things but instead keeps repeating the endless cycle of "make flavor" --> "make money"
Only good thing is more modder support which in this update has became game changer but once again, why play base game when it's just a money making machine rather than a well-thought and balanced game for all audiences
At the end of the day I still love eu4 but there's nothing to recommend here outside of if you feel like playing the game, buy the sub and don't bother with this one expansion specifically but instead the experience as a whole
