Kindergarten 2 Review (Daffy D. Duck)
Absolute dogwater. No longer a puzzle game as the first one was.
The first game was a bit fun because it had tricky trial and error as the core gameplay. Often needed to go back to attempting missions later and talk to others to open new options (think spelling "biscuit"), as well as getting the necessary hints from others. Needed to mix different mission routes to solve the mission you were working on. I only did the janitor mission but it was so boring and easy that I have absolutely no interest in continuing, so will refund. Also, the novelty of 'dark humour' shock value wears off by the second game, so they needed to up the ante a bit here to subvert expectations or stop relying on it so much.
Now missions will hand hold you through everything with explicit instructions all given by the mission subject. Rather than figuring out you need to grab X object and place it Y to do Z, the game filled in all the blanks for me. The first game did this to a degree, sadly, but the sequel is far worse.
I'll admit this game has some nice new quality of life things (can reset to any area and the text goes faster), but it really can't be called a puzzle game anymore beyond the ones given to toddlers which have them "put star shape goes in star hole!"
Without spoiling, the ending of first game had a really good puzzle you had to figure out yourself, though it gave you optional hints if you wanted to look for them in menu.
If you really enjoyed the writing of first game (I mostly liked the mystery story aspect a tad) then you'll like the story here. If you valued the challenge of first then stay far away from this game.
