Journey to the Savage Planet: Hot Garbage Review (DALCOhstangultion)

Unlike for the base game ("Journey to the Savage Planet"), I'm NOT Recommending this DLC ("Journey to the Savage Planet - Hot Garbage"). Many of the reviews here don't recommend it because they say it's too short. For the most part, I disagree with that reason. It took us about 5 hours to finish the DLC with 100% Achievements. Since I paid about $4 for it on sale, that's just fine. The list price is about $8, so that's just a tad expensive, but not unduly so.
The actual problems I really had with the DLC are:

The level of platforming involved
The postcard collectible portion
Some of the Kindex scanning.

The base game included platforming, but it was reasonable. This DLC's platforming, specifically for anything involving flying through some smoke rings, is really difficult and rage-inducing (for me). The collection of postcards would have been fine except many of them are hidden way out under the ocean (which is painfully slow and boring to walk through). And, one is so far out that it doesn't even register on the postcard scanner until you happen to wander through some nearby area of water. And, for the Kindex scanning, the last handful of them are similarly hidden in that water and darn near impossible to find.
But, other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, the game was fine. If you don't do Achievements, it's probably not worth the money. If you do Achievements and don't mind quite involved platforming and searching, it'll be fine. For me, I'll have to go with a Not Recommended, though. It's a shame. The base game is excellent and I'd have loved to have a DLC just a bit closer to it in some of those aspects.
