Journey to the Savage Planet Review (Alba6rek)
Intro:
” Welcome, explorer!! As the doomed person in our company, we will make you explore this strange planet and give us its latest discoveries.. sooooooooo good luck!!”
Gameplay:
The game is about exploring a planet far from our solar system, diverse with its creatures and geography. You will find flat, elevated and flying areas as well, and you will always find secret places such as caves and others on every corner of the world. In terms of the world design, it is designed more vertically than horizontally so that each new area is located on a layer above you, and you find yourself jumping, climbing, or even sliding to reach new places and areas. These areas are distinguished by their monsters which are considered rather unique but some of them are repetitive with minor differences (ex.. one is armored and the other explodes). You may encounter some armored monsters that you can only eliminate by using some materials, and these materials can be obtained through the plants around you that may also help you solve some puzzles. Can you gather some resources for crafting?? Unfortunately, no....there is no crafting mode in this game, but there are some resources that you use only to upgrade your abilities.
In terms of abilities, the abilities in the game are very simple and useful. All the abilities you get at the beginning of the game help you to reach your goal of climbing, fighting, or solving puzzle. Most of these abilities will unlock with you as you explore the world and finish the main story. You may encounter some "hard-to-reach" places or strange puzzles, but after you unlock a certain ability, you can go back to it and solve it. And FYI, most of the abilities you cannot read about them until you reach the advanced stages of the game (that is why I was somewhat lost when I found a puzzle in front of me and did not understand how to solve it).
Also, you -as an explorer- will have a scanner to scan the whole world, and this thing is very interesting and encourages exploration.
Unfortunately, with all these advantages, the game is very short. Short in terms of the worlds you discover and the fun you receive in the game. And even in the number of main bosses you are fighting. I finished the game, and I didn't understand that I finished it. As if the developers ended it here due to lack of time. It was very sad. I consider this to be one of the big disadvantages in the game. The other drawback is that there is nothing to do after you finish the game. Except collect some abilities and examine the world around you more. I didn't find anything really important in it or even side missions.... This is very sad...
The Story:
The story in the game is simple and direct that you are trying to discover the world to know if it suitable for humans and trying to fix your own spaceship and through your discoveries you may talk to a scientist and he will guide you to your goal and he may throw some jokes, either directly or through advertisements that may appear in your broken spaceship.
Graphic and Music's:
As for the music, it is somewhat acceptable, but it was not important, so I started reducing it so that I could talk to my friends. The game does not require much concentration. As for the graphics, they were very impressive. I enjoyed the scenery and the variety of colors in my first moment in the game. The graphics are close to 3D cartoon graphics and this design is very suitable for the game, especially since the game has a strange joke side.
Extra Note:
- The game does not have a minimap.
- The game has a co-op mode. You can play with your companion and listen with him during your trip.
Conclusion:
This is one of the games that I enjoyed playing and exploring, but unfortunately it was not perfect. It was too short. If you want to buy it, don't buy it at full price.
