Iris and the Giant Review (Groove Wizard)

A very poetic game that addresses a topic dear to my heart, in which you follow Iris, a young introvert girl -most probably an autist, although it isn't explicitly said - on a journey to face her inner struggles.
With few sentences, and short sequences of Iris's everyday life, the game beautifully - and shockingly - captures how immensely painful every part of life can be when you have trouble expressing yourself, and how devastatingly cruel the world tends to be to those who're different, especially among children.
Although the game itself lacks polishing in several departments, it is entertaining and innovative in a variety of ways. It doesn't have the kind of mechanical genius that makes games worth playing in the long run, but discovering every bit of it is definitely pleasant.
Ultimately, Iris and the Giant feels less like a game, than an interactive way of telling a very important story. And at that, it does a wonderful job.
