Invincible Presents: Atom Eve Review (Atonement)
This game is very good! I had lots of fun playing it. I had been waiting for this game for a while, and I followed its development. I will say the game more than met my high expectations. You play as Atom Eve and explore the world of Invincible, through a visual novel RPG setting. The gameplay is simple and fun, especially if you like comic books. You get to make choices that will affect your relations to characters, similarly to TellTale story games. The graphic art style is really good, the animations are awesome. The musical score was also really good, too. Overall, a very satisfying experience if you like Visual Novel games and Comic books. It is being sold for a very cheap price so this is definitely worth the cost.
I will say though, there are many things that I want to see added, such as:
- A new game plus. After checking out the other reviews, it looks me and many other fans wanted to see a new game plus added into the game. It could be added as apart of a future update alongside possibly some new DLC content. This would definitely increase the playtime lifespan by a lot, as unfortunately, it is currently impossible to fully complete the skill tree. Of course, a new game plus would take a long time to develop, but trust me, it would probably be worth it. Maybe simply adding a sort of "free roam" mode after finishing the game to help you fully complete the skill tree would be enough?
- A new storyline, such as DLC content. It could be based off of comic material, or something entirely new. It looks like the developers were afraid to stray away too far from the source material, but I would have to say that straying farther away from the source material is a good thing (obviously not too far) because it is a visual novel game, so your choices should be able to massively influence the story.
- Definitely make another one of these games in the Invincible universe. Either a sequel to this game continuing off of your playthrough, or create another game where you can play as Mark instead of Eve, or another character in the Invincible verse. That would be really cool, to explore alternate stories with the other characters of Invincible, and how it might tie into the multiverse.
Besides me wanting those things to be added, everything was really good and I recommend this game to any Invincible fans who like visual novel games.
