Insurgency: Sandstorm Review (Overlord 1-1)
Good evening,
I have been a fan of the Insurgency series since the first title came out. It has brought me countless hours of intense moments, memorable conversations, and engaging game-play.
That said, Insurgency: Sandstorm has been a mixed bag for me. While the base game is decent and there is plenty to do, its constantly overshadowed by bugs. The most common, and game effecting bugs have been a constant problem for over a year now with no fix in sight.
Radio channels can get locked to where teams can hear each other at all times, a bug that's been here almost 2 years now.
An Anti-cheat validation failure that requires you to verify game files anytime you wish to play, with the odd chance it fails anyway, 8 months.
The inability to form squads of friends and join servers, 3 years.
Not to mention the continued push to take this from the realistic tactical shooter genre, grounded in real gear, weapons, cosmetics and locations, and turn it into a arcade shooter.
Had the single-player campaign been added, I believe much of this would have been a non-issue. As it stands, I cannot recommend spending 29.99+ on this tittle.
