Idun: Frontline Survival Review (PrinceDusk)

I haven't left a lot of reviews, but I did want to put one for this. This game is all about defending a point, building your defenses. This feels like someone liked some specific missions in Starcraft 2 and decided to make a game out of it (not that I'm saying that's a bad thing) but wanted to mix it with the "survival" or "bullet Heaven"/"Vampire Survivor-like" games. Place your turrets, build your walls, and go.
I like the maps, the turrets, the look, and just the game in general; I think it's fun especially for just $15
My biggest gripes (as of this review) is:
1) the fact that the missions for the most part are short, like less than 5 minutes, and don't have a way of continuing endlessly on that same run -- the way the enemies ramp up may only add 5 more minutes, but it just feels like I'm getting into stride and the mission is complete. Yes there is one mission type that is actually endless but not a lot and its harder than the others.
2)You have a choice of "loadout" - starting turrets, "Heroes", and special ability type thing - for a mission (and there are dozens) but you can't see a layout for the map. This is noteworthy because your loadout cards are consumable and you might decide a blade turret seems fun but you have a big open field, or you chose a Sniper tower because you haven't used many of them but your map isn't well suited for that. You can see the enemies and a general "omni-direction" indicator, of "large/small map", which can be helpful but for example I've had a "large map" that was supposed to have tougher monsters so I chose the Sniper, but the layout/positioning wasn't good for that kind of tower, so I usually just start with the "default"/non-specialized stuff and hope I pull a card for towers that are better for the map instead. Just seems like wasted work when just a little map preview would make things a lot more dynamic.
