Hrot Review (Agent47)

Calling HROT "Quake but Soviet" is selling it short. It's so smooth. The level design and atmosphere are so good. This is the type of retro FPS that should be supported and celebrated.
Funny how another certain retro shooter (one that shall not be named) went into early access 4 years ago, 2 years before HROT. It charged more than HROT, and offered less. That game is still not out and has seen no updates in years unless you get excited seeing biweekly dev updates showcasing those epic upcoming new vase textures whoop-de-doo! (Yeah, you know which game it is. Well done.)
Why was all this relevant? Because on the other side of early access... you have good developers who know what they're doing like Gloomwood's, DUSK's, and of course... HROT's. (Presumably) One gigathad fueled by nothing but actual player feedback and vodka, pumping out improvements and level after level on a consistent basis throughout 28 months of early access.
When people point to the aforementioned poopy game as a reason why you should never get games in Early Access, HROT is one of the few that prove the opposite by simply saying "Actually, yes it can work".
Good on you, Spytihněv. Vashe zdorov'ye.
