Home Safety Hotline: Seasonal Worker Review (Eleanora)
Seasonal temp gig at the Hotline? Still weird. Just not as wild.
If you liked the base game’s cozy analog horror, Seasonal Worker is a decent follow-up, but don’t expect it to crank the fear or the fun any higher. The vibe is still charmingly cursed, and the expanded myth pool gives you more creatures to ID and mislabel from the comfort of your creaky desk job. It’s more Home Safety Hotline, just… less puzzly and more passive.
Like before, you get to hear the consequences of your (in)competence, and there's no rush: you can pause, replay calls, reread the almanac, and take your time. The Easy Mode toggle remains a win, letting you sit back and enjoy the spooky folklore stew without worrying about failing. The new entries in the almanac are fun to read and let’s be honest, any excuse to hang out in this retro liminal call center is a good one.
That said, the DLC lacks bite. There’s little challenge this time around because many of the creatures from the base game are unused, leaving fewer options to mislead you. The result is a breezy but less satisfying experience. And while I still love the format, this DLC feels more like a condensed holiday themed demo than a true expansion. Not bad, just... budget your expectations like you would your seasonal shifts.
