Hiveswap Friendsim: Volume Three Review (LostTresure)
Another volume another set of wonderful trolls to befriend!
Beware about spoilers ahead;
Our fifth friend to make is Skylla, that is if you're not an idiot who continues to walk in the murder sun. To be fair we didn't ask about a potentional murder sun and honestly if you have no idea about anything it's an easy mistake to make to presume a planet run enteirely by kids and teens would mean everyone stays up all night. And to be fair to the trolls if you lived with this you wouldn't think to say anything it's just a normal thing that everyone's known about for forever. Anyway back to the wonderful and amazing Skylla and her equally wonderful lusi Ladyy! Ladyy is the first lusi we get visuals on and the second one we ever officially meet, a truly wonderful dog! It's never not funny to find out which things are just the same as on earth, pancakes aren't (they're grubcakes) but coffe is the same, wild. It gets fully confirmed that Jadebloods are the only ones impervious to the death sun, everyone else suffers from it but surprisingly despite being nocturnal trolls deal with it better than humans. Although we don't learn to much about it now Skylla's the oldest troll we met so far and about a sweep out from leaving the planet at 9 sweeps so currently she's around 8. Skylla's also the second troll who recognizes you as an alien, well possibly a lusi but only until she acctually had a look. Also no idea if it was just a miss or just MC (you) not knowing what it acctually was but Ladyy fetches a bucket to draw you a bath from outside, it might have just been a scourdray (which we won't get named for a very, very long time) or something, fair enough either way though since we don't say anything aloud about it yet. We also can't read the spiky Alternian text anymore that time with Cirava was a fluke or maybe they did some fancy things with the letters that made them look more human? It also specifically gets pointed out how it's weird you've been able to understand Alternian spoken language but not the written stuff, so apparently Alternian doesn't sound like English? Might tie in with Joey only being able to speak with trolls through the tablet or something and kinda explains why the gift of gob badges were important... Also the train of making lowblood lives worse continues at least this time it's only in the bad end. Good end turns out pretty awesome, also I'm prety sure this is the first time but MC crushes hard on girls, at least we end up being her best friend.
So our sixth friend is Bronya after we run around some random tunnels for a while. I love the line "3. We have no hierarchy, but do what I say." it's a literal rule down here. She's nice enough to tell everyone (who's unfortunately not here right now) to not be alarmed nor injure us further. How nice! Just never make Bronya angry :S We also get to see another pictured lusus, this one doesn't belong to anyone we know though. This is also one of those cases where it feels like we did something wrong even in the good end. By the end of it things turn out okay but it still feels like we did a bad by distracting Bronya by faking things but I guess it worked out okay anyway. Not that routes like this are bad they're very intresting and leaves you with a lot think about.
For this volume we get a lot of information regarding lusi, the mother grub (and everything that entails), things about grubs and wigglers, some things that may or may not be enteierly accurate regarding grub laws and also we learn what a recuperacoon is. Very productive volume ^w^
