Hitman 2 Review (Jinshiro)

Hitman 2 is a really fun game. You can find reviews praising the game all over the internet. And rightfully so.
Then why I don't give it a thumbs up?
Because of the spying.
There is a trend in modern games, collecting as much data as they legally (and sometimes even illegally) can so they can maximise profit by selling the data to 3rd parties, like advertisers.
Of course they going to say, they only collecting all that data to improve the game but it's really just an excuse. You actually do not need ANY data to be collected this way to make a good game OR to improve the game.
Do you really always have to be online? Just to be able to unlock stuff and see progression on your profile? BS.
If they would just listen to the community on the game forums it would be easy to address most issues based on the complaints of their players. It would be more time consuming, but there are examples of this. There are many game devs, especially early access games that do listen to their audience and develop their game based on that, AND without forcefully collecting a metric fuckton of data that often does not even relate to the game.
For example, how is your browsing data will help them make a better game?
Is it helps finding bugs?
Is it leads to better UI?
They going to write a better story with that?
Of course not.
There is no other reason than to predate on you and sell your data. It has ZERO benefit to the game.
Of course they going to come up with some kind of excuse why they need that browsing data but make no mistake, They would sell your soul without your consent if they could.

What they doing would be considered spying if it happened with a country or government body.
They collect names, addresses, hardware ID's, your email, gender, age, browsing data, sometimes phone number and more.
If you would do this with them, they would sue you for it.
Hell, Disney sued the grieving parents of a dead kid because they dared to put a picture of Spiderman on the coffin of their dead son, because it was his favourite superhero while he was still alive!
I can easily imagine some hot shot lawyer describe what you just did is "espionage" or something along those lines.
If you would do this to a government anywhere in the world, you would be in front of court in no time. You would be on trial for spying. They would put you in prison.
Yet when these publishers do the same it's just fine and you have no choice but to accept thier spying willingly if you want to play their games.
Well, fuck that.
I do believe privacy should be taken way more seriously.
I do believe customer protection should be taken way more seriously.
I do believe we should step up our game bros and make stand against these kind of bullshit practices.

edit:
I know I can decline their privacy policy to play offline, but if I do that I will be locked out of certain features like progression of challenges, the ability to unlock new weapons, outfits and entry points and a bunch of other things too that should be part of the single player OFFLINE experience.
There is no reason to lock out offline players from these things and no reason why these features are exclusively available online.
Only contracts should require online connection since pretty much that's the only content made by other players.
I have to use 3rd party software if I want to play offline and still want to see my stats and unlock things. OR. I will just accept they spying privacy policy and they will graciously let me progress and unlock shit. This is stupid.
And by the way, what will happen when they will shut down their servers 10 years from now? Nobody will ever be able unlock stuff in game anymore? What kind of stupid design is that?
