Hitman 2: Himmelstein Review (tallwood13)

Not worth a penny, stop making these IOI. They seem to require the least amount of effort to make and they are just insulting to most fans of the series. I love sniping but this isn't fun the amount of grinding to get to level 20 is among the least of the concerns. By the time you get to level 20 you are hollywood perfect. I have seen people head shot every bodyguard without missing before Dorris the goldfish (i dont care it sounds like it). Before she gets out of her helicopter. An experienced player can get a score of about a 2 million point score with some practice but by the time you get to level 20 it's 20 million points. After a few games in a row you will miss some of the moving targets pretty easy.
The level looks better than some of them in the game. I'm looking at you Colorado from Hitman 2016. It's like they didn't have time to finish this level as it has a nice charm and atmosphere. They quickly cobbled this together crunching to hit a deadline I imagine and we get this excuse of a level. Going from the actual game to these is like playing GTA Vice City and doing the Malibu missions and then having to race Hilary. The fat guy in the fast car. Everyone hates the sudden change of pace as not everyone playing GTA was or is racing fans.
you would think that by getting all 20 challenges that you'd be done and get mastery of this level but nope! If I wanted to grind this hard I'd play some over rated RPG like final fantasy 7. Not the remake. The original. Tee hee, just 400 more hours before Cloud is level 99 and my red summon materia are level 2.
This can be a fun time waster. Waiting for the mail to arrive, waiting for something to cook in the oven. You know that sort of thing. There was one challenge in particular I'm not even joking I marinaded a chicken in a mixture of 8 ingredients, put it in the fridge and still had time to wait for the bride and groom to dance. There are 3 time waster missions like that in particular. Dropping the lights, firing the cannon on the three and dropping the statue on the two. Each of them take about 10+ minutes of waiting around to get.
The hidden challenges can be a bit insulting even to someone with perfect 20/20 eye sight some of those ducks, birds and light switches are hidden too well. Granted you do get a better scope eventually that can see it better but it's just insulting as I feel I should be able to see them perfectly even on my first run. The light switches have a very tacky wall paper on most and can help blend in to the point if you're a few pixels off it may count as a "miss" The ducks have very bad hit boxes as well. One or two in particular I missed two or three times aiming for the head. The gnome challenge was really dumb as well. The fun hidden challenges are shooting all the pots, the subtle stuff at best. The rest should be easter eggs or some autistic kid in his basement getting a giggle like the light switches or whatever how fast they can do it.
There is even some timed challenges such as zapping a certain amount of people in X amount of minutes or blowing them up. I hate those the most. However the bride and groom dancing is really poorly planned. You mess up. Well there goes another 10 minutes of your life waiting to try it again.
To get the targets to hide including body guards is annoying. You can shove them with the bullets but the last one has to be a slam dunk or the game will not acknowledge the challenge as It can't WAIT to finish the level where you're still going. Why is there no exit button? Colorado has one! I wish it was 16 of the 18 targets or something realistic if they want to play that game.
I did not expect to 100% the challenges in under an hour. If the DLC costs more without this garbage mode to get the last two sandbox levels in Hitman.. guess what. I'm going with that instead! Even if it's a few dollars extra I'm paying.
Ways to improve
make some of the challenges take less time to happen.
make the ducks have better hit boxes
make the lights more visible without needing the highest end scope
make the birds easier to find, this is Hitman not GTA 4.
less grinding to get to level 20
make the guy at the top of the cliff challenge be just shooting his bottle
