Help Will Come Tomorrow Review (grayvitaliy)

I belong to probably the last generation who could see around people who went thru the first World war and The Revolution, and listened to their stories first-person, although by the time I started school they were quite old. My own granddad was born in 1917, but than, he was the youngest of 9 siblings...
About the game:
10/10 for visual design of characters - static pictures do tell the story, from the very Intro to the way they sit around - small details, their poses etc - they all meaning and telling - that Polish (i presume) artist did great job
Music is good, with there was more variety of soundtracks, but fits well into what you see on screen
Game mechanics are simple and easy, saving style is the same as in This war of mine etc - with the beginning of a new day. some people may find it annoying, but it fits the style - if you want to spam saves - you still can, but that's not as game-play was intended... intentions of this game-play are quite clear - to fit the atmosphere, when surprises, good and bad both come at SURPRISE...
Writing is good... i would write differently some Russian names and general russian and english texts probably could do with some corrections, but that`s the only grudge about wringing quality - story writing done very well, both for as literature quality as well as for stories themselves. You read them, think of time, places and events - and believe them.
Well... Vladivostok was and is the beginning of TrasSib, milestone number 0 at its Main Railway Station, and I did study in what became of Oriental Institute... almost a hundred years later after one of the characters did... felt connected :))
Put it altogether: I got from this game more than expected, definitely more than it`s money value... and can line
"Help Will Come Tomorrow" with other games like "This War of Mine" - when a virtually small game, not some overblown AAA-project, turns out to be surprisingly emotionally involving, and with "Disco Elysium" - when good writing is everything.
can only say to its Polish developers - well done, really well done!
PS: it just screams for more stories, scenarios and mods! with such foundation, I can easily see more items, more characters and more stories to be fit in perfectly!
