Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Deluxe Edition Review (Tired)
Wanted to love this game, however, the friendship level block was beyond frustrating. To swim you get flippers but in order to snorkel you have to wait till the character that gives you that ability is friendship level 6- and you can only give gifts up to 3 characters per day but the gift giving just levels half a heart at times - my impatient butt could never wait so this is just my opinion.
Don't get me started on how unbelievably slow the character is, there is no sprint option (at least gives us that with a stamina limit) and doing the little mini 'grab the star' games were stressful. Speaking of stamina, just by climbing up a wall depletes you stamina so ridiculously fast.
The sfx of quests gave me a headache, why must it constantly ring to remind me I am on a quest? I would turn it off and the sfx would bing for a different quest, this got so annoying I just turned off all sounds.
The beginning of the game you can find certain items and it's obvious where they should be placed but you aren't allowed to do it yet because you need to unlock a quest first. It's just UGH!!!! This doesn't feel like an adventure, this feels like a chore.
At least in Animal Crossing you aren't locked out of things and can still enjoy the game fully even with out certain items.
Was waiting for this game so badly and wanted to love it so much because cozy games are absolutely my go to for relaxing. Rather this gave me a headache. This was a game I wanted to be able to play without wanting to put it down but unfortunately if it limits my game time play then it makes me want to play even less. The player should have control when they should stop playing or not, not the game.
