Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Review (Shant_X)
Senua's Sacrifice is a suitable name for the game. The developers made a concerted effort to incorporate psychosis, a very real disorder, into the game. Who says firms can't make good games on a shoestring budget? This is an excellent example of a AAA title that is not a AAA title. I'll try not to give any spoilers. Hellblade is an excellent blend of puzzle, psychology, and free-form game-play.
In terms of game-play, you can basically interact with the environment, items, and choose which path to go first. Then there are conflicts, where the environment or an area is locked, similar to DMC or Bayonetta games. Then problems had to be solved in order to progress, open hidden sectrets or routes. The majority of the riddles are required. You will remain involved in the game as voices continue to stream through your thoughts, sometimes giving hints and sometimes telling sections of the narrative.
The battles are quite good, and almost all of the bosses are unique. However, each of them has flaws that you can discover during the fighting. While fighting the bosses, you must be patient. Learn how they move.
A solid plot, as well as mystic and mystical figures based on Norse mythology.
I don't want to be rude, but if you have any form of mental problem or stress in your real life, avoid playing this game. THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.
Overall, I had a fantastic time with the game. I've played DMC and Heavenly Sword by Ninja Theory, both of which are enjoyable, but Hellblade is fantastic. I'm still waiting for the Hellblade sequel.
And after this game, I have high hopes for Ninja Theory. The gaming time ranges between 8 and 10 hours. I went over 10 hours because I like to explore a lot.
If you haven't played it yet, this game is worth buying even if it's not on sale. This game should be added to your library now, while it is on sale for the summer.
Last words - Try not to die in the game TRY NOT TO DIE.
