Have a Nice Death Review (Maie™–)

Really charming, but it has a lot setting it back.

- Balancing feels terrible, some gear of the same rarity can vary wildly in how strong or good it feels.

- Having cloak items just being one attack with a cooldown seems like missed potential, not only that, but I took a while to learn some cloaks have different moves depending on the direction you are holding (holding up on the Raparrier makes you invulnerable for a second, I read the text talking about parries thinking it was more like a DMC parry where you attack on the enemy's attack, it's not. Also just making you invulnerable is so boring...)

- Scythes are definitely the most fun to play with (except the Parasol), having the most depth in moveset, although, I have never seen anyone use the charged attack or the "get off me" attack on the ground (except the Parasol and Selenite). Default scythe and sickles are pretty fast, but can sometimes take you out of position. The Diss scythe is great, but it's areal attack sucks. The Selenite is so weird, most of its upgrades buff the last hit, but doing the full combo on it feels awful (even the Twinsie that is the "slow" scythe feels way more responsive to, say, dashes), while the areal attack feels SO good to spam, with decent damage and a large area (Also it has that buff to the next attack but it doesn't feel worth it. Also the ultimate's hitbox is awful). The Billhooks seem really good but in 24 hours I couldn't even half it's price.

- Some fights feel really unfair, even if you have the quickest of reaction times, some attacks just aren't telegraphed that well and or come out super fast. This game could really use a "training room" like Dead Cells has where you can fight any enemy or boss you want instead of going on a run and dying to the same boss a lot until you learn.

- And, I think a lot comes to this, it's not really good as a roguelite. The only progression you get are: The levels that either are great (lifesteal curses) or just... why is this worth a whole level? Not to mention there are only 20 levels; And buying new stuff, scythe, cloak, food.
The lack of the feeling that "I lost, but I'm getting stronger" really, REALLY helps you burn out faster, specially since there isn't a lot of rooms in each biome, you'll start noticing you are playing the same rooms over and over and over again, and if you happen to main red curses, the biome choices are basically not there lol, with the "UPGRADE NEXT X CURSES" sign, you'll prob end up going the same biomes over and over again, specially when it's WAY easier than the other option (addictions department feels twice as hard as physical illness department).
And after beating the final boss, I just don't feel like playing it again. The difficulty changes aren't interesting (most of it is just tankier enemies and more fragile you) and not all of them give you a reward, prob the best part is just some bosses getting new moves.

It's not terrible, but in the realm of roguelikes, not a fan.
