Harmony: The Fall of Reverie Review (Geek Girl)
There's so much I could share on why I recommend this game, but I don't want to give away too much.
My advice on this - for your first play through, go with the choices that interest you, and take note of which proverbial doors open/close based on those decisions. That way, you can do another play through and choose differently to see what you missed.
I like how this game handles LGBTQ+ inclusion - characters with those identities exist, but it isn't a significant plot point. The most I've seen show up in two play throughs are references to name/pronoun changes, how one character has a flag in their room as a sign of allyship, or how one of the characters (I'm assuming AFAB) doesn't want to wear their hair long or wear dresses.
Another thing that I like - the messaging around mental health. Your character experiences an emotionally significant event and that affects their ability to use the Augeral (the "choose your own adventure" mechanics). It's good to see a game where processing trauma is part of the storytelling process.
