Halls of Torment Review (Hyphesus)

I absolutely love Halls of Torment.
The atmosphere is similar to Diablo 2, which is super nice to have in such a bullet-hell game. I love the music and the narration of the game, and i enjoyed discovering the quests&collectibles. Maybe i'd have loved to see more quests or them being a lot more useful, but the current balance on the quests are ok i guess.
Gameplay here is really simple -just like in any survivors like game- and it makes me happy to play this game without thinking too much while multitasking some other stuff. I found it pretty enjoyable in a sit back&chill setup. Also boss fights can be hard if you don't have enough damage/movespeed; which makes them pretty tense if you are trying it for the first time without having some of those buffs. Other than that I enjoyed those bossfights so much, they were much more enjoyable compared to the normal stuff you do in your runs.
I've been playing this game since it was in early access, and I also completed Vampire Survivors so from this point onwards I will compare those 2 games and I will tell you why you should play Halls of torment.
The amount of variety in Vampire Survivors is clearly better, but Halls of Torment's variety amount for bosses, maps, weapons, possible builds, characters suffices IMO. There are similarities of course, but that makes the game 'familiar' in a positive way too, since you don't really wanna focus on spending your precious 'brain-power' on these games.
While the Vampire Survivors offer an ending and an end game content for min-maxing stuff if you want, this game only offers end game content. But I think the end game content in this game is much more challenging and fun compared to what Vampire Survivors does, so thats a plus if you care about playing end-game and becoming more invested in the game.
Overall for me, Halls of Torment is an 8/10 game that I'd like to turn on from time to time.
