Gylt Review (bgray9054)

Cons:
* Game has multiple endings, but the good ending seems to be pretty difficult to get due to the amount of stuff / people you have to find on the various maps - I actually spent a good bit of time wandering around trying to find everything and I don't think I found anywhere close to enough to get the "good ending" which I found a bit on the frustrating side. If you want the 'good' ending, you might consider using a walkthrough to ensure you get it versus spending hours on the game and missing some bits on the maps and not being able to get it.
* No manual saving, game auto-saves at checkpoints.
* This is kind of a neutral bit, just for informative purposes - the game is pretty graphically demanding. I'm playing in 4K with everything cranked, aiming for 120fps and even with a heavy manual overclock to 2150MHz this game takes an RTX 3090 to full utilization. This surprised me a bit. Game runs really well, though, so again, this isn't really a con or a pro, just an FYI so you can plan to ensure you have good system cooling, etc.
Pros:
* Excellent graphics & frame rates.
* Game has pretty good combat mechanics - I was a little worried that it would be a sneaking game where you had to avoid monsters completely and had no way of fighting them (I do not like those types of games), but this one allows you to have ways to counter the monsters for the most part, which is good.
* Good narrative to progress the game along with pretty good pacing. Couple levels can drag a bit with the more complicated puzzles, but most of the game, I'd say around 80% or so, flows really well.
* Very stable game, zero crashes.
* Ran into zero bugs.
* Game is a good length - just as you begin getting tired of the mechanics and are ready for the game to end, it pretty much does.
* Game not "woke", although the bullying angle is a hard sell for me in the manner it's portrayed. What's portrayed in the game is pretty standard for most kids growing up and we all just get through it, it's called life. I am never a fan of trying to coddle people too much as that just makes them into snowflakes. Be understanding and encouraging when they run into issues, but also must instill a sense of toughness as well so kids can grow up and be strong when faced with adverse conditions. Mommy isn't always going to be there to make the meanies go away.
* No additional DRM or launchers beyond Steam.
* No Epic Online Services.
Game Length: 6-7 Hours.
Final Rating: 6/10.
