Guns of Icarus Online Review (Vexeisis)
One of the most unique multiplayer gaming experiences I have ever enjoyed. The atmospheric silence as you hide in the clouds, fearing the inevitable sight of an enemy ship, the wood of your ship lightly creaking in the wind, as your crew awaits the inevitable. Your crew jumping into a frenzy fighting fires, calling out enemies positions (starboard, port, bow, above AND below), running between the guns as your captain yelled out orders, or BEING the captain and steering your ship deftly out of danger and into an opportune firing position - fantastic.
Communication and coordination was paramount, combat was unlike anything I've ever seen or have played since. Unlike other other co-op competitive games where you're on a "team" but everyone does their own thing, this game REQUIRED everyone to work together, and it was an absolute blast. Win or lose, you always felt like you experienced the same thing together as a crew. When you won, you felt you won as a group (not because of some tryhard "carry").
Back in the day, these battles were intense with moments of disturbingly fraught silence as your ship coasted through the wastes, awaiting some surprise attack.
Muse Games - I would LOVE a reboot of this game. This gameplay was unlike any other. A truly unique and fun co-op competitive experience. Sadly, as the other reviews will state, the servers are basically dead. If you're somehow able to get a large group of people together to play it (and I mean A LOT (at least 8 minimum, ideally 16 or more), this will be one of the best gaming nights you'll have in a long while.
Until then, rest in peace you gem of a game. <3
