Guilty Gear X2 Review (597)
A great fighter that still holds up fairly well today and an important piece of history. This whole series has great music, visual design, insane story rivaling even the likes of Conker's, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, MDK and Earthworm Jim; and deep systems that reward risk taking and aggression while giving the player a high degree of freedom.
Still, I can't recommend GGXX #Reload to most people. The Accent Core +R version of this game, specifically the Steam version, is a superior product in just about every way, aside from having a *much* bigger online population. No surprise after over two decades of balancing, improvements, added mechanics and features.
Get #Reload on Steam only if:
1 - You absolutely love the GG lore and must see all of the story modes. The story mode #Reload shares with the original Midnight Carnival and Slash versions is different from the one in AC+ and AC+R (the regular AC had no story mode).
2 - You love frustrating unfair classic single player fighting game design, in which case the mission mode here, which is totally different from the one in AC+R, may interest you because you will struggle even more than in AC+R.
3 - It's discounted to a few bucks (which it often is) and you're just curious. But if you're a collector, I'd say just find a physical copy.
