Graveyard Keeper: Stranger Sins Review (bonesmasta36)

It's not a bad game, but it's not a great game. The DLC falls right in line with that. I started a new game to see what the DLC was like in line with the main story.
Pros:
- It does help smooth out the money grind mid-game and late-game
- It maintains the best part of the original and builds on it- a quirky sense of humor, good atmosphere and good writing
- It adds additional much-needed automation
- It fills in many of the story gaps and adds to end story
- It's satisfying and fun to upgrade the tavern and its components in the same style as other buildings
Cons:
- More automation is needed. There is no way to bring up 2/3rds of the ingredients for beer, and no way to automate mead. Needs a built-in water pump for zombie brewery and a porter for wheat
- Same problem as the original, but more of it. It is grindy, and fetch quests are made especially annoying by requiring components on specific days.
- There is no purpose to much of the tavern. You already make the correct amount of money without "events", and they require a lot of work so there is never a need to host one outside of quests.
- It removes the value of any other money-making function in the game such as graveyard income, and merchant crates.
- I was hoping for a more unique end reward
- I don't love how few bug fixes and updates the game got until right before the DLC release. It's a small gripe, but felt iffy
TL;DR
It's a fine addition to the main game, but suffers the same problems. I'd pick it up on a 50% sale.
