Golden Idol Mysteries: The Spider of Lanka Review (Armagedon)
This DLC has shocked me a bit the first time I saw it. Not only with it being a prequel but also with new animations for all the new cases.
The Spider of Lanka is, in my opinion, much harder than the base game and the cases require you to scratch your head even more. The vial with a cricket in case II and Spider's illustrations in case III felt insanely stupid with little to no clue that would indicate what was their purpose.
Now about things I like about this DLC - it fleshes out some characters that didn't have their time to shine in the base game, namely Oberon Geller from the first case, showing us how creative, clever and intelligent individual he was. The new animations are also welcome, they feel new and smooth and just look so good.
I'd say buy this DLC on sale, as while this DLC isn't terrible, I think the step down in gameplay makes it worth less than a whole 1/3rd of the base game.
