Golden Idol Mysteries: The Lemurian Vampire Review (♥ teensy ♥)
Honestly, this was probably the worst DLC of the game yet. The Golden Idol is one of my favorite games ever, but this DLC amounted to little more than repetitive madlibs with no real challenge. I felt like there was relatively little puzzle solving or deduction, and more just stating what you see and then struggling to parse what *exactly* the madlibs want you to say. The previous mysteries felt like you were actually having to solve real challenges and keep track of lots of information, this just feels like you're recording them easily. Also, I got a puzzle wrong using the word "obtained", but got it correct using the word "found", which is just pointlessly unfairly challenging since they could have been used in that particular spot interchangeably.
I would absolutely love to see more similar mystery games from this developer, but I think they just need to move past this specific Golden Idol story (which thankfully they seem to be doing, as this is the last DLC for this game). I would much rather have a new, compelling mystery than just reusing characters for the sake of continuing this played out story.
