Golden Idol Investigations: The Lemurian Phoenix Review (Pascal Laprade)

The first DLC, The Sins of New Wells, left me fearing the difficulty level of the coming DLCs would be too high for me, as I found it expected many jumps in logic, sometimes without even giving you a clue marker (expecting you to make deductions on non-interactive decor), complex visual associations to make, and also contained (I found) harder-than-normal vocabulary for a non-native English speaker like me, which got me lost. It was still enjoyable, and definitely inventive, but I lived some moments of despair.
Thankfully, this DLC, The Lemurian Phoenix, has been back in the tracks of the first game and it's DLCs, and the sequel, for me. I found the puzzles were more balanced (some maybe a touch easier, admittedly), and especially that every clue relevant to the interpretation of the puzzles was properly interactible.
I had lots of fun with the language puzzles in particular (which did however require some leap in logic through a thankfully limited vocabulary), and I found the plot twists, revelations and character development/backstory to be really good, sometimes just brilliant!
I can't wait for the other DLCs to come out, hopefully they'll add even more background and continue to tie-in all the events, locations and characters of both games, as the game has done so well so far!
