Golden Idol Investigations: The Lemurian Phoenix Review (funny_bean189)
Really loved this personally, but can absolutely see others getting frustrated at it
The Lemurian Phoenix ups the difficulty heavily from even Sins of New Wells in my opinion, with 3/5 cases in this being among the most difficult in the series. This DLC in particular heavily relies on very, very careful observation of details, and it's easy to get super confused or stuck on a point, but I personally liked this aspect. I had two moments where I initially felt the actual answer was stupid, but when I thought over the explanation given after, I admit that the actual answer to all of these moments was the most reasonable taking everything into account. The story can feel a little messy but it was ultimately very interesting to me, with a good amount of humour and especially a bunch of giant twists, unusual for the series. There was about 5 separate moments where I was like "AAAAAA-HAAAAAAH!", unusually high excitement at realising a weird detail and so.
Also, the OST for this is absolutely amazing, like 8/11 tracks from this are in my top 10 of the series.
Overall, buyer beware, this DLC is very difficult and I think many will get very stuck or confused on parts of it, but I think ultimately, it's fair, and it's given me some of my most satisfying detective moments in a while.
