Garfield: Lasagna Party Review (Gris)
You don't really appreciate how important the gameplay is to the Mario Party experience until you play something like Garfield Lasagna Party. Yes, good gameplay is often what one hopes for, but you could be forgiven for thinking the inherit randomness of the Mario Party sub-genre would be enough to get by. Lasagna Party would be an inoffensive, perhaps even enjoyable Mario Party clone if it at least played well, but It's in the minigames, one of the biggest draws of a Mario Party-like, where its flaws are most evident. Poor gameplay makes the minigames, even if interesting in concept, dull and tedious. A cardinal sin if there ever was one in a game like this.
Unless you're a hardcore Garfield fan or someone that likes to mess around with bad games, it's difficult to recommend Garfield Lasagna Party. There are other great Mario Party-likes on Steam that are worth getting. Personally, I was a fan of both Billion Road and Monster Jaunt, and I've heard good things about Dokapon Kingdom too. I will say that Garfield Lasagna Party is at least an easy 100%, so if you're looking for some quick achievements it might not be a bad pick up on sale.
