Freshly Frosted Review (lijunkang🍍)
Plus:
+ Casual difficulty.
+ Cute and colourful.
+ 12 boxes, each with 12 puzzles; a new mechanics gently introduced at the beginning of each box.
+ Interesting mechanics and puzzles.
+ loads of QoL features and accessibility options (undo, redo, restart, puzzle skip/select, fast-forward, hint, etc).
+ Chill soundtrack and narration.
Minor issues:
- Some undocumented behaviour of the mechanics (e.g. the teleporting copier).
- Deeper puzzles, for example programming-like ones, could be created by exploiting further the mechanics, which already provide functionalities such as (de)multiplexing and higher fan-out.
- 10% of the levels verge on the side of trial and error.
- When the tiles are nearly full, it is difficult to visualise or correct errors.
Verdict:
Recommended.
Remark:
This game has a very similar vibe to the games by the studio Afterburn; if you like the games of Afterburn, you will enjoy Freshly Frosted too (and vice versa).
